Custom Classic Fireplace Mantel

This project involved a complete floor-to-ceiling transformation of a living room centerpiece. Combining fine finish carpentry with precise masonry work, I designed and built a custom mantel assembly that brings a sense of timeless elegance to the home.

Key Project Features:

Custom Mantel Construction: Built a multi-layered mantel featuring ornate decorative corbels, an arched header, and intricate dentil crown molding for a sophisticated, traditional look.

Precision Tile Installation: Installed a large-format tile surround and a matching raised "step" hearth, ensuring perfectly leveled surfaces and clean, tight grout lines.

Professional Finishing: Handled all aspects of the wall preparation, including drywall taping, mudding, and precision sanding to create a flawless substrate for the final finish.

Fine Finish Painting: Applied a smooth, durable finish to the woodwork and surrounding walls, highlighting the detail of the moldings while ensuring a cohesive look with the room’s existing architecture.

Craftsmanship & Compliance:

Every element of this build was completed with a focus on structural integrity and safety. As with all Zanini Renovations projects, the installation follows Ontario Building Code (O.Reg. 332/12) requirements regarding clearances from combustible materials, ensuring the fireplace is as safe as it is beautiful.
